Denny's Canada (85 restaurants: 57 corporate-owned, 28 franchised) is run by Northland Properties, the wholly Canadian, privately held Gaglardi family hospitality company (Vancouver) that has operated Denny's in Canada as master franchisor since 1990. In January 2026, as part of the US parent's $620M take-private sale (to TriArtisan Capital Advisors, Treville Capital, and franchisee Yadav Enterprises), Northland acquired the trademarks, IP, and exclusive rights to the Denny's brand in Canada outright, plus an equity stake in the US parent — consolidating full Canadian control rather than remaining a mere licensee of a foreign owner.
