TimelySeptember 11, 2026
Markdale, Ontario-based Chapman's Ice Cream says it is on track to replace more than 70% of its American ingredients by mid-2027, swapping in alternatives like Australian almonds, Chilean cherries, and an Ontario-made sugar cone. The family-owned company will keep its dairy 100% Canadian and says it won't raise prices before March 2028, absorbing the added tariff-related costs in the meantime. The sourcing shift builds on changes Chapman's began after the first round of U.S. tariffs in March 2025.
